Festival of Carp 2025

Mark your calendars for this year's ‘Festival of Carp’!

Join us at Horseshoe Lake in Lechlade on Saturday, July 12th. It's always a fantastic social gathering with something for everyone and this year is no exception.

This year, we are excited to present an impressive array of trade stands, bait companies, custom tackle dealers, bait boat displays, casting demonstrations, information booths, and more. A complete list will be available soon.

Our instructional activities this year feature the ever-popular ‘Get Fishing’ sessions with Angling Trust Coaches, various casting demonstrations, and an instructional Rig Clinic.

Inside the Marquee, we have an amazing lineup of activities and guests, including a Fishery Management Q&A with Andrew Ellis, an auction, a Mega Raffle Draw, a tribute to Paul Selman and Maurice Steeles, and the unveiling of Brian Sefton's memorial bench. Additionally, we will host a Carp Society Question Time with Neil Spooner, Steve Briggs, Julian Cundiff, Terry Dempsey, and Ian Russell.

New this year, we are introducing several new areas, including: The World of Angling area, featuring specialized groups such as Pike, Carp, Tench, Perch, Barbel, Chub, Catfish, and Eels, along with some holiday companies.

The Carp Society Corner, where volunteers and staff will provide information about all our waters, offer promotional material, and run a tombola. This area will also highlight specialist sales, books, memorabilia, the Chris Ball book collection, Brian Mills' drawings and prints, and more.

The Carp Society Museum and Veranda, which will host visiting exhibitions from The Crabtree tackle collection (giving you the chance to handle the rods that caught record Carp) and the Carp Catchers tackle items. Vintage tackle sellers and book sales, including soon-to-be-announced book launches, will also be featured.

Refreshments and a bar will be available throughout the day on Saturday.
