From time to time throughout the year the growth of weed necessitates closure of some swims in Summer Bay. This is because our first intention is always to protect our fish stock from accidental snagging ….
You’ll be pleased to hear that we have just invested in a new boat-mounted device for controlling weed. Our purchase was delivered last week.
In addition we are hiring the use of a Weed harvester for 3 days, Wednesday 11, Thursday 12 and Friday 13 August in Summer Bay. A number of swims in Summer Bay will remain closed during the period.
If all goes to plan, we will reopen Summer Bay on Saturday morning in time for the weekend.
We anticipate using this service once a year and then using our own system for maintaining an essential minimum throughout the remainder of the season.
