Location
Access by road is extremely easy. The lake is approximately 1½ miles west of the A419, Cotswold Water Park turnoff. The A419 is the main road linking Gloucester and Swindon
Located within the Cotswold Water Park, near South Cerney in Gloucestershire, Farriers is a tranquil setting consisting of two lakes. The largest, at 32 acres, was stocked by the Society as a carp fishery. In excess of 650 fish were introduced before the lake opened in 1997. The lake is now regularly producing mirrors and commons over 30lbs. Winter fishing is spiced up by a liberal amount of double-figure pike.
New Lake record set at 38lb common in October 2007 and the largest mirror now stands at 32lb.
There is easy access to all swims, good car parking and there are toilets at the site.
Farriers is leased from a mineral extraction company on a long term lease and run by the Society on a syndicate basis. See Permit Options.
Farriers is the new name for Lake 61, formerly Daiwa. When the link with Daiwa ended, members were asked to make a suggestion for a new name. Until this was decided we used Lake 61 which did not sit well with either members or the team.
