30/01/09 to 01/02/09

Considering past events, the weather was reasonably kind to us this year.

A good mix of old and new faces enjoyed the two days of fishing tuition and food. what a bonus to hold it in our own Lodge at Horseshoe.

Mick Brown and Mike Neate spent the days and evenings tirelessly helping each angler to improve and catch more Pike. Between sips of 'Merry Mole' Mick entertained each evening with his collectioin of anecdotes and pictures of his captures of Predators and Catfish. Malcolm provided much delicious country cuisine spiced by his inimitable wit and humour. Great social and great fishing.

Some 20 pike were landed to mid-doubles, none of the big girls this year, though Spencer tried his hardest to lure a big '20' from Summer Bay. Next year Spence....

Pictured opposite is Paul Warne with his 11lb 12oz pike caught from Peg 21.

Mick and Mike have both agreed to be here again for a 2010 event, so watch this website for dates later in the year.
